The Engine
Extensive modifications for racing in 1976 included the following:
9:1 Pistons, lightened and balanced flywheel, XJ6 spin on filter, gas flowed cylinder head, ported inlet manifold, gas flowed carburettor pistons, 2 x 2” HD8 carburettors from a 420G, Iskendarian pattern camshafts.
Newly Rebuilt Engine spec as follows:
Engine bored plus 20 thou, Mahle 9;1 pistons, XJ Series 2 con rods, balanced crankshaft, rods and pistons, lightened flywheel, 9 inch heavy duty clutch and cover, multi V drive pulleys, Rob Beere high capacity oil pump, rear seal crankshaft conversion, core plug strapping kit, Rob Beere 1.8” inlet valves, Rob Beere 1.625” exhaust valves, Rob Beere 1.4” tappet buckets, RBR valve springs, RBR valve seal conversion, Rob Beere reprofiled camshafts, composite head gasket.
